Guardian Coverage: Fears UK aid cuts could undermine research on deadliest diseases
Lord Herbert of South Downs and Virendra Sharma MP, Co-Chairs of the APPG on Global TB, were joined by senior parliamentarians in expressing their concern about the potential impact of a cut to the UK aid budget on research to tackle diseases like TB.
The letter was signed by a number of senior parliamentarians including former health secretary and now-Chair of the Health and Social Care Committee Jeremy Hunt MP, the Chair of the Science and Technology Committee Greg Clark MP, and the Chair of the International Development Select Committee Sarah Champion MP.
