Last Tuesday (7 March) several APPG TB Members participated in a Westminster Hall debate on the O’Neill Review on AMR.

Members had previously called for an opportunity to debate the important issue of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and this was the first House of Commons debate on the Review since its publication in May 2016.

During the debate, Members commended the government for its international leadership on AMR; highlighting the significant human and economic costs of failing to adequately address drug-resistant TB within the global AMR response as well as the opportunity presented by global discussions on AMR to incentivise research and development for new tools to end the TB epidemic.
