APPG holds AGM

On Monday 10 October the APPG on Global Tuberculosis held its Annual General Meeting in Room O, Portcullis House.

Election of officers
Those present agreed the election of the following officers unanimously:
Chair and Registered Contact: Nick Herbert MP
Co-Chair: Virendra Sharma MP
Vice-Chairs: Baroness Suttie, Baroness Masham, Lord Chidgey, Nic Dakin MP
There was also a short discussion about the gender balance of the Group’s officers. It was noted that this was important alongside the party balance of the Group’s officers.
Approval of income and expenditure statement
Those present agreed the income and expenditure statement in principle; and the Chair agreed to sign it off.
Work programme
The Group discussed the impact of its engagement around the replenishment of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria and welcomed the UK's announcement.
Those present agreed that over the next year the Group should continue to focus on TB in the UK and overseas, with its key areas of work over the next year being:
Research and development following the Ross Fund and AMR agenda
The Collaborative TB Strategy for England and TB in the UK
The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria post-replenishment
